Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Goshen, IN

FTE: 1.0

FLSA: Non-Exempt (Hourly position)

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Prior experience with the following skills: Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and Electrical (24DC, 120/277/480AC) systems. Methodical problem solving to identify root cause of breakdowns.
  • This position requires the ability to work on projects both individually and cross functionally.
  • Must be capable of rapidly responding, adapting to changing and nonstandard situations, and remain thorough and safety conscious during entire process
  • The qualified candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in any related field
  • Excellent Communication skills are required.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires minimum of eight hours standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling with a full range of body mechanics/movements.

Regularly required to lift and carry up to 35 (thirty-five) pounds. Frequently required to lift and carry up to fifty-five (55) pounds. Occasionally required to lift and carry up to seventy-five (75) pounds.

Must be able to work in an environment requiring use of ladder, stairs, heights, platforms and climbing in and out of trailers or working under trailers in tight spaces.

Must have ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools safely, work with compressed air safely, operate fork trucks safely and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Industrial maintenance experience preferred
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
  • Hydraulics/Pneumatics experience
  • Knowledge of 480-volt AC/DC motor controls
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude, knowledge of tools (power and hand), ability to make detailed measurements using instruments, including but not limited to, tape measures, micrometers, and dial calipers.
  • Must have the ability to read detailed engineering drawings and prints and electrical schematics.
  • Must have the ability to plan job schedules and processes.
  • Must have above average mechanical and electrical knowledge. Basic component and assembly process knowledge is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:

An employee in this position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention. Strick adherence to Corporate and/or Plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can exceed OSHA limits.

EXPERIENCE



  • Maintenance for buildings and grounds including but not limited to: Welding, framing construction and metal work
  • Operation of the Maintenance Group tools and equipment including but not limited to: forklift, scissor lifts.
  • Compliance with Company policies and procedures
  • Compliance with local, state and federal rules, regulations and codes



SKILLS



  • Communication skills - verbal and written
  • Coordinate with supervision and other groups including outside contractors
  • Read and accurately follow schedules, blueprints, diagrams and schematics
  • Reporting and documentation
  • Safe operation of various equipment including heavy equipment
  • Work independently with limited instruction
  • Safety Requirements



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Squatting/bending/kneeling/twisting/pushing/pulling
  • Work inside and outside in all types of weather
  • Stand for long periods
  • Walk and move around - as required



SAFETY REQUIREMENTS



  • Safety glasses with side shields
  • Safety work shoes. Composite or steel toe.
  • Other Department/Job specific Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.



Schedule:



  • 8-hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime - As needed



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Prior experience with the following skills: Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and Electrical (24DC, 120/277/480AC) systems. Methodical problem solving to identify root cause of breakdowns.
  • This position requires the ability to work on projects both individually and cross functionally.
  • Must be capable of rapidly responding, adapting to changing and nonstandard situations, and remain thorough and safety conscious during entire process
  • Must understand SAP data entry for managing line calls, PMs, and projects.
  • The desired candidate will have 1-3 years' experience in any related field
  • Excellent Communication skills are required.
