This position is hosted by the Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Science Department, which has extensive expertise in quantum materials. The program involves close collaborations with experts in theory and data science and will benefit from frequent interactions with principal investigators at the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II), which provides world-class capabilities for Resonant Inelastic X-ray Scattering (RIXS).

Position Description

We are looking for a postdoctoral research associate to perform resonant inelastic x-ray scattering experiments on correlated quantum materials. The results will be interpreted alongside state-of-the-art theory and advanced data science methods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing resonant inelastic x-ray scattering experiments on quantum materials at synchrotrons and x-ray free electron lasers
  • Analyzing and interpreting the results in close collaboration with theorists and experts in data science
  • Reporting the scientific results in academic papers and talks
