Overview R&P is looking for a motivated professional, who wants to join our team. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. We need a Main Propultion Subject Matter Expert ready to join a fast-paced and exciting work environment. The Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Post Delivery Technician (PTD) will support the PMS 501 Post Delivery Hull Manager during Post Shakedown Availabilities (PSA) and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) activities to include: monitoring physical progress, trouble shooting, identifying and resolving technical problems, observing equipment testing, enforcing quality control, etc. The PDT will provide subject matter expertise in the area of Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) to accomplish Alteration Installation Team (AIT) installations on LCS ships as directed by the PMS 501 Post Delivery Hull Manager. The PDT will be onsite to assist the PMS 501 Post Delivery Test and Trials (PDT&T) Manager and LCS crew(s) with Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) Final Contractor Trials (FCT) preparations to include conducting a mock INSURV inspection, providing crew training, performing equipment validation and check-out, trouble-shooting and technical resolution of problems. The SME will remain on-site for the FCT to assist as required and participate in trial Card screening and adjudication. Responsibilities

Qualifications Specialized experience: Must have a minimum of 20 years full-time related experience operating, trouble shooting and maintaining Propulsion equipment and systems aboard US Navy ships. Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Freedom and/or Independent variant experience is preferred. Trouble shoot, identify and resolve technical problems, observe equipment testing, enforce quality control, etc. for LCS HM&E systems and equipment. Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to work in an industrial, shipyard and shipboard environment including supporting ship underway time up to 1 week. Must be able to climb ladders and traverse steep incline and be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Duty requirements: San Diego, CA based work with anticipated travel (20%). Ability to travel independently. Ability to work weekends and after normal business hours during PDT&E and PSA events.
