Job Description

The position will lead targeted initiatives aimed at enhancing business students' professional competencies, skills, and success, aligning with industry standards and requirements. The role combines strategic leadership, direct student interaction, and active engagement with industry and community partners.

60% Enhance Experiential Learning of Business Students

Facilitate opportunities for business students to gain practical, real-world experience aligned with their academic and career goals.

Develop and manage a comprehensive experiential learning program including internships, cooperative education (co-op), apprenticeships etc., for undergraduate and graduate business students.

  • Maintain records of student placements, salary ranges, employer contacts, and internship/co-op outcomes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the experiential learning programs and recommend improvements based on feedback and data analysis.
  • Monitor student progress, addressing any issues that arise to ensure positive outcomes
  • Guide students in identifying experiential learning opportunities that align with their career goals and academic preparation.
  • Promote the College's experiential learning programs to business students including routine and timely notifications of open positions, grow the number of students who are seeking internship/co-op/apprenticeship opportunities and the number of successful completions.

20% Student Professional Preparation and Success

  • Coordinate logistics of the RISE Academy and other professional development programs for students.
  • Work with college's assurance of learning leaders to incorporate indirect assessment of program learning outcomes via employer surveys.
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative staff to integrate professional development into the curriculum and extracurricular activities.
  • Work closely with students, faculty, and business leaders to strengthen the college's industry and community networks and enhance career readiness among students.
  • Work in collaboration with the university's centralized career services office to provide career preparedness and internship support to students and employers.

20% External Corporate Partnerships

  • Develop partnerships with employers, coordinate student experiential learning and/or provide guidance to partners to ensure successful student experiences.
  • Coordinate partner visits to campus and organize opportunities for students to interface with partners
  • Represent the experiential learning programs of the college in educational and industry forums, including conferences and college's advisory board meetings.
  • Provide information and guidance to employers and guide them through the internship process.

Shift

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, evening and weekend as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • A master's degree in business, education, or related field.
  • Experience working with corporations and companies and creating partnerships.
  • Experience leading professional development programs.
  • Proven proficiency with data analytics and related platforms and tools.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $63,000 - $67,000 Annual
Grade: GGS-10
