About the role

This position is an early career-level role in the organization and will focus on gaining the necessary skills and knowledge base to enable a successful career in Reworld. As the successful candidate grows, the role will have an increasing level of responsibility and independence for decision-making.

Market Area Specialists maintain an effective waste portfolio consisting primarily of residential, commercial, and select municipal customers to maximize the company and plant-specific financial, operational, safety, and strategic objectives in the marketplace. This role is also responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Program for the facility(s), with the assistance of an effective mentor. This position requires no prior knowledge of S&OP for a candidate to be successful. A successful candidate can communicate effectively, work cross-functionally, and encourage teamwork and collaboration. This employee will improve the efficiency of our decision-making process through data collection and analysis. They will use interpersonal and problem-solving skills to gather information from different departments and recommend ways to improve the waste mix. They will lead key Sales and Operation Planning ("S&OP") meetings, working with Facility Management and Reworld Environmental Solutions to enhance communication.

The role will be to conduct waste (fuel) procurement, fuel supply monitoring and inventory planning, and other asset management and development activities at the facility(s). The individual will be responsible for revenue-generating activities such as waste contracts and providing input related to facility operations, improvements, and operational byproducts. With experience, the individual may take on more important leadership tasks. This individual will also collaborate with the Market Area Director and facility personnel as a liaison for plant issues related to waste procurement for local municipalities, clients, and profiled waste. This individual may assist with residual ash tracking/reporting and coordination with the residual ash transporter and disposal facility. They will also assist with community outreach and be the focal point for community concerns as required, in concert with Reworld's Asset Management team.

This position will provide input and support related to financial goals and targets for the facility, including participating in annual budgeting and forecasting activities, Maintaining the Facility Detail Model, assisting with creating the Company's Long-Term Economic Model, and reviewing the overall budget and forecast with senior managers. The role will partner with other team members, Operations Groups, and Environmental Services Organizations to ensure the accuracy of our forecasts on a short and long-term basis. They must engage in constructive dialogue and use logic and problem-solving skills, resulting in a thoughtful decision-making process to succeed in the role and for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Fuel (waste) Supply management is coordinated with the sales and operational teams.

  • Daily waste inventory management

  • Daily maintenance of Facility Detail Model (s), which tracks and predicts waste inventories and deliveries

  • Liaison with customers for all delivery and contract-related matters

  • Liaison with plant management and operations teams to ensure waste delivery and inventory management alignment. Attend daily plant morning meetings as needed.

  • Daily Profiled Waste supply management in coordination with Sales and Operational teams, assisting with any issues or pricing concerns.

  • Develop and execute bottoms-up monthly demand forecasts to enhance supply chain operations and accuracy.

  • Design and develop customized reports and dashboards to support and aid key business leaders with decision-making.

  • Lead monthly S&OP cadence meetings to increase communication between key stakeholders while increasing reliable service delivery to our customer base.

  • Analytics reporting, i.e., flash reports, turn time/tare weight/inventory analysis, data cleanup, report building, and forecast comparisons.

  • Strategy development and/or strategy implementation and other productivity initiatives.

  • Develop and execute budgets and monthly forecasts to enhance supply chain operations.

  • Assist in promoting a positive image and inter-business relationship with partners and customers.

  • Liaison between the facility and CES/Client/Municipality/Waste Managers.

  • Lead S&OP meetings, increasing communication between key stakeholders and increasing reliable service delivery to our customer base.

  • Analytics reporting, i.e., Flash Reports, Turn Time/Tare Weight/Inventory Analysis, Etc.

  • Strategy development and/or strategy implementation.

Requirements & Qualifications (Education, Skills, Certificate, Licenses, Experience)

  • Education: Associate (A.S.) or bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited college or university is preferred.

  • At least two years of related experience and/or training in a similar situation is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of industrial production or similar settings is helpful.

  • Strong team player with prior leadership skills.

  • Ability to understand profit and loss, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Highly proficient with database analysis and report-building tools

  • Must possess strong business acumen that highlights proactive thinking with a detail-oriented and creative problem-solving approach.

  • Solid analytical, planning, and organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

  • Proficient in manipulating data to extract desired information

  • Highly developed verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Exceptionally strong planning and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key partners.

  • Proficient in Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and execute in an operating business (Goal-oriented mindset).
