The Opportunity:

As an Electrical Engineer at Veeco, you will be at the forefront of developing and improving semiconductor capital equipment through impactful New Product Development (NPD) and Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) initiatives. Whether you're based in our vibrant San Jose, CA, location or our established Plainview, NY, office, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our high-performance systems. Responsibilities:



  • Design and innovate electrical systems for our advanced ion beam deposition equipment, encompassing RF sources, high power DC, and sophisticated control systems.
  • Pioneer solutions by developing and integrating control algorithms that enable the precise operation of ion beam sources and deposition processes.
  • Engineer robust and efficient AC power distribution networks that guarantee the safe and reliable delivery of energy.
  • Become a problem-solving expert by troubleshooting and resolving issues in control systems, directly contributing to minimizing customer downtime and maximizing their productivit .
  • Collaborate with a talented cross-functional team of mechanical engineers, software developers, and process engineers to design, maintain, and optimize our electrical and RF systems.
  • Leave your mark by creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for your electrical designs, processes, and safety protocols.



Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience .

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:



  • Proven expertise in analog/digital circuit design, including schematic design, layout, and thorough testing.
  • Hands-on experience with RF and DC power supply design, and the intricacies of electrical interface design.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving roadblocks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and documentation.
  • Direct commercial experience within the semiconductor capital equipment industry or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with RF supplies, inductively coupled plasma, vacuum equipment, and robotics.
  • Experience with motion control and PLC systems.
  • Knowledge of CE, UL, TUV, and RoHS regulatory standards, as well as experience in cleanroom environments.

The expected salary range for this position is $116,915 - 148,092.65, plus bonus opportunity. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
