JOB TITLE/ DEPARTMENT: Lift Technician Apprentice / Lift Maintenance POSITION TYPE: Full Time Year Round WAGE RANGE: $20-$23 DOE SUPERVISED BY: Lift Maintenance Mgr. and Lift Technicians POSITION SUMMARY: Assist lift maintenance department and technicians with performing scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance and repairs to chairlifts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS: This is an entry level position for applicants without adequate lift maintenance or comparable experience to meet the level 1 technician requirements. Apprentices are primarily responsible for assisting with and performing lift maintenance task as assigned by the lift maintenance mgr. or lead technician. While performing the job of apprentice you will receive training and skill development with the hope of working towards becoming a Level 1 technician. The apprentice will never be asked to work unsupervised or outside of his/her perceived skill set. All Apprentices must be able to develop the skills and job knowledge necessary to advance to the technician level after one complete year of employment or they will be let go or transferred to another department if possible at this time. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This job requires repetitive lifting of fifty pounds or more, working outside in extreme weather conditions, sitting or standing for long periods of time, repetitive motions, bending, Squatting, kneeling, twisting, working above your shoulder level, and the ability to safely climb ladders and structures in excess of 50 feet. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have or be willing to obtain extensive knowledge of Schweitzer facilities and events. Abide by all company policies and procedures. Willingness to be flexible with scheduling and working when requested. Possess the ability and desire to work with others to accomplish common task and goals. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Additional Job Specifications listed in Lift Maintenance training program SKILLS: Mechanical aptitude, Technical Training, and or Lift operations experience. EDUCATION: High School diploma, or GED equivalent. EXPERIENCE: Entry level position/ some tools required. LICENSE NEEDED: Driver's license preferred. MACHINES OR TOOLS OPERATED: Expected to be trainable in safe operation of many types of power tools, hydraulic tools, and Snowmobiles/ATV's |
