Pay Range

$33.48 - $40.99 Hourly for the 538.1 level

$41.93 - $51.33 Hourly for the 538.2 level

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.


Job Description

We have openings for Technical Field Documentation Coordinators. You will coordinate, identify, and document facility electrical and mechanical equipment data for the purpose of configuration management and maintain data integrity within the sites' Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This position is in the Infrastructure Engineering and Operations Department within the Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) Directorate. This position may require work at Site 300 located in Tracy, California.

This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.

This position will be filled at eitherlevel based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

You will

  • Provide basic coordination and support needed to document real property asset information inside and outside facilities at Site 200 and Site 300.
  • Provide supervisor and customer/requestor with status updates on documentation jobs.
  • Provide input to established procedures, standards, and guidelines; solve basic technical problems pertaining to facility related system information.
  • Interact with co-workers, scientists, engineers, construction and project management, and skilled technical personnel with follow-up to supervisor.
  • Comply with Environmental, Safety, & Health (ES&H) and Security requirements and LLNL policies and procedures; resolve and report hazards or potential hazards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities, at the 538.2 level

  • Provide general project level coordination needed to document real property asset information inside and outside facilities at Site 200 and Site 300.
  • Identify and obtain equipment nameplate and other technical data and coordinate the input of data into various databases and AutoCAD drawings; provide input and recommendations for engineering design drawings.
  • Provide input to established procedures, standards, and guidelines; solve moderate to complex technical problems pertaining to facility related system information.
  • Coordinate the implementation of documentation support by contacting key personnel; anticipate and reconcile support problems, including technical factors affecting critical milestones.

Qualifications
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Associate degree in an electrical or mechanical technology or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and/or mechanical structures and systems and their application in a facility or production plant environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprint drawings.
  • Ability to identify problems and provide solutions to technical documentation of building systems and basic experience with safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions and conflicting/changing priorities, as well as plan and organize work while maintaining schedules and timeliness.
  • Ability to participate in general on-the-job training, such as operational or equipment training.
  • Possess effective written, verbal, and presentation skills necessary to interact tactfully and effectively with a diverse group of personalities and disciplines.
  • Experience with personal computers and Microsoft Word and Excel.

Additional qualifications at the 538.2 level

  • Intermediate skills and understanding of electrical and/or mechanical structures and systems and their application in a facility or production plant, as well as understanding of the standards, procedures and techniques related to equipment systems and documentation.
  • Ability to identify problems and provide solutions to moderately complex technical documentation of building systems.
  • Experience and knowledge of CAD and associated software.
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills necessary to interact tactfully and effectively with all levels of personnel.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Experience in a construction and/or maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of DOE O430.1C, Real Property Asset Management.

Site 300

Site 300 is an experimental test site operated by LLNL. Situated on 7,000 acres in rural foothills approximately six miles southwest of downtown Tracy and 15 miles southeast of Livermore, Site 300 hosts approximately 200 employees with expertise in such fields as engineering, chemistry, biology, and environmental restoration. Employees assigned to work at Site 300 may be exposed to the organism that causes San Joaquin Valley Fever (coccidioidomycosis).

Security Clearance

This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.If you are selected, wewill initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if youmeet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.

Pre-Employment Drug Test

External applicant(s) selected for this position must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test. This includes testing for use of marijuana as Federal Law applies to us as a Federal Contractor.
