This position will field incoming requests for BHASO (Behavioral Health Administrative Services Organization services) through the RMHP (Rocky Mountain Health Plans) phone line and email. As a representative of RMHP, the Payment Navigator will provide excellent customer service to inquiring Individuals and Providers and will expertly articulate the services and supports available through the BHASO. The position requires knowledge of behavioral health services and will support navigation of an Individual's benefits to assess for BHASO eligibility. The position will support transitions to Regional Accountable Entities and commercial insurance as needed. The position requires multicultural sensitivity and effective communication skills with Individuals accessing BHASO services. Schedule: Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Mountain Standard time If you reside in the state of Colorado, you will enjoy the flexibility of a remote role as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively across the Colorado C&S and BHASO departments
- Respect confidentiality as described in the UHG Employee Handbook and acknowledged through signature by all employees. The ability to maintain confidentiality is a critical and essential component of this position
- Participate in Interdisciplinary care team meetings as indicated
- Knowledge of behavioral health resources and services and facilitates linkage to needed care
- Knowledge of BHASO services and contract. Knowledge of Medicaid and commercial insurance related to behavioral health benefits
- Communicates the mission and role of the organization to community associations and stakeholder groups as needed
- Serves as the front-line contact for Individuals accessing care. Provides excellent customer service and follows up promptly
- Supports with screening and triage. Connects Individuals to internal and external services
- Educate and assist identified Individuals about behaviors that can enhance their health and assist with navigating the behavioral health system
- Communicate member issues requiring interventions to appropriate departments and providers
- Maintain confidentiality and use only the minimum amount of protected health information (PHI) necessary to accomplish job related responsibilities
- Participate in staff meetings, case conferences and in-services. Maintain familiarity with all policies and procedures that impact decisions and care
- Complete all duties in accordance with company safety policies and practices
- Other functions may be assigned and management retains the right to add or change the duties at any time

- High School Diploma/GED (or higher) OR 4+ years of community outreach work experience
- 1+ years of experience working with diverse populations, community, or faith-based organizations
- 1+ years of experience with knowledge of Colorado Medicaid and the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration
- Access to a designated quiet workspace in your home (separated from non-workspace areas) with the ability to secure Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Reside in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
- Reside in the state of Colorado
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with customer service
- Healthcare setting experience
- Knowledge of health education, motivational strategies, and an empathetic manner working with the underserved
- Knowledge of behavioral healthcare
- Knowledge of local area
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
