Director of Nursing - VNPN The Director of Nursing (VNPN) leads and manages the Vocational Nursing/Practical Nursing programs to maintain high educational standards, compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements, positive student outcomes, and efficient operation of all activities of the department. This role requires strong leadership skills to oversee program development, faculty management, and student success initiatives. Responsibilities
Principal Accountabilities & Deliverables
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to align the Nursing Program with accreditation, state, and federal regulations
- Collaborate with academic leadership to design and update curriculum to meet industry standards and evolving healthcare practices
- Conduct regular program reviews and evaluations to maintain quality and identify opportunities for improvement
- Monitor and maintain compliance with state boards of nursing and accrediting agencies, submitting reports and documentation as required
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of faculty for employment and in developing strategies for faculty retention and promotion
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluations to faculty members to support their professional growth
- Organize faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to promote excellence in teaching
- Oversee student admissions, progression, and retention processes, fostering an environment that supports academic and personal growth
- Monitor student performance, address concerns, and implement interventions to support successful outcomes
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, addressing questions, concerns, and appeals.
- Attend all pinning and graduation ceremonies as scheduled by the campus
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and resource allocation
- Build and maintain relationships with clinical sites, coordinating clinical placements and partnerships
- Collaborate with marketing and admissions teams to promote the Nursing Program and support recruitment efforts
- Prepare for and participate in audits, site visits, and accreditation reviews
- Act as a liaison between the Nursing Program and external stakeholders, including clinical partners, professional organizations, and community groups
- Represent the program in institutional and external meetings, promoting its mission and goals
- Establish/maintain a high performance team of professional, motivated and engaged staff utilizing effective training, performance management and career-development activities while leading them to achieve established business results and performance metrics.

Qualifications
Licenses / Certifications
- Current unencumbered license or privilege to practice registered nurse in the state of TX
Education / Experience
- Bachelors in Nursing; Masters or Doctorate preferred
- 3 years Clinical Experience
- Actively employed in nursing in the past 5 years, preferably in administration or teaching. Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in pre-licensure nursing education program.
- Experience with nursing accreditation processes and compliance requirements
- Expertise in adult education, including teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and curriculum evaluation

Work Environment
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises.
