Risk Data and Automation Sr Analyst
The Risk Data and Automation Sr Analyst is responsible for supporting the Risk organization through automation of Risk Management Frameworks, including automation of processes, aggregation and analysis of data, and production of associated end user dashboards and reporting. This technical role will interface with Risk Program owners and stakeholders to gather requirements and develop solutions while partnering with Technology and adhering to the Bank's technology standards.
Position Responsibilities:
Development of Automated Solutions


  • Gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into automated solutions with robust, scalable, adaptable architecture.
  • Investigate, propose, and implement strategic automation solutions to meet business requirements of medium to high complexity.
  • Leverage relevant, approved programing languages to create and maintain automated solutions and reporting environments that meets business requirements.
  • Write and refine code to ensure performance and reliability of data extraction and processing.
  • Design, develop and build real-time data pipelines from a variety of sources (streaming data, APIs, data warehouse, messages etc.)
  • Collaborate with Technology and Data Engineering to adopt best practices in data system creation, data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
  • Participate in sprint planning meetings as needed.
  • Foster a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions.
  • Review functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and any missing requirements.
  • Design and implement security measures to protect data from unauthorized access or misuse.
  • Ensure best practices are followed across architecture, codebase, and configuration to ensure high quality automations.
  • Advise and guide junior team members on automation best practices, standards, and support the broader community of practice.
  • Keeps management informed of status of on activities through accurate, timely, and appropriate reporting.
  • Follow Data Governance standards.
  • Keeps abreast of emerging technologies.
  • Review and propose alternate solutions to non-standard solutions if/as applicable to meet business needs.
  • Provide Client consulting and planning guidance as applicable for moderate to complex projects/programs.


Cross-Team Collaboration


  • Facilitate cross-team discussions with Risk colleagues to determine and document business requirements and perform gap analysis between current and future states.
  • Collaborate regularly with technical teams to ensure dependencies are captured and that the team has comprehensive test scripts.
  • Communicate incident response activities to leadership and stakeholders.


Risk Management and Identification


  • Analyze automation solutions for potential Risks related to data security, compliance, and operational continuity.
  • Evaluate the likelihood and impact of identified risks and prioritize them based on severity.
  • Ensure automations comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies and standards.
  • Develop strategies to reduce or eliminate risks, which could involve recommending changes to applications, processes, or policies to business partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Business Information Technology, Data Science or related field OR High School/GED with 6 years of Risk Management or other related experience in the Financial Services Industry
  • 4 years of experience providing automated technical solutions for complex business problems, identifying the benefits and risks of the solutions, and providing recommendations
  • 4 years of experience in extracting, transforming/manipulating, and loading data sets of various sizes using programming (e.g. Python) and querying languages (SQL)
  • 4 years of experience coding with modern programming or scripting language (e.g. Python, Scala, Java)
  • 4 years of experience with Full lifecycle development in an enterprise development environment
  • 3 years of experience working with software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes and testing
  • 3 years of experience developing strong collaborative relationships with key partners in data engineering, business intelligence, software development, finance, modelling, and product teams

Work Best Category: Category C - Days in the office will either be designated days or will vary week to week from 2-5 days Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Salary: To Be Determined Based on Individual Experience
