- Review work schedules and available job plans for completeness and correctness, provide advice to the Planners of changes and reasons
- Ensure that necessary instruments, materials and equipment are available
- Develop daily work schedules and coordinates with Operations for equipment availability for maintenance
- *Provide input to the Superintendent and Plant Engineer on maintenance backlog priorities and any causal factors that may contribute to the effectiveness of the maintenance activities
- Ensure the prompt assignment of maintenance resources to specific jobs which are appropriate to their possessed skills and their training needs
- Provide discussion of job requirements and work sequence as required, sets expectations for job duration and completion
- Review safety requirements and discusses potential hazards that may exist
- Frequently check job progress, addresses delays, interacting with employees concerning causes of off schedule conditions, offer coaching and guidance to enhance the productivity, quality and service
- Make every effort to prevent delays as well as follows up on overruns and interruptions
- During work area tours the area should be inspected for safety (both environmental and Personal Protective Equipment [PPE]), and any concerns should be addressed immediately
- Ensure that all housekeeping is performed according to the Area Housekeeping Plan
- Make tactical decisions as necessary, staying as close to the schedule as possible
- Evaluate emergency work and choose the correct level of response required, in manning, materials and schedule interruption
- Accurate reporting of time and materials, job completions, feedback of proper maintenance history and corrective actions
- Communicate with relevant parties in a clear, concise, and professional manner during meetings and via radio, phone, or e-mail
- Responsible for the maintenance and submission of employees' time records and vacation requests
- Responsible for the enforcement of all Nutrien White Springs rules and regulations (including attendance)
- Administer all safety initiatives in their Area: Conduct Key Process Audits (KPA) and SWAT samples as defined by annual goals
- Order maintenance supplies as required
- Active member of 'Confined Space Rescue', 'Hazardous Material' and 'Fire Team Training'
- Maintain current training as needed and ensure area complies with all training requirements
- Responsible for ensuring that all permitting is correctly issued for the safe and effective completion of maintenance activity
- Handle first step grievances among hourly employees
What you will bring:
- High school diploma, required
- 5+ years of professional experience in Industrial Electrical Maintenance; 10 years preferred.
- Ability to interpret basic electrical, instrumentation, and process drawings, as well as experience in the repair and maintenance of instrumentation controls and power distribution systems.
- 4+ years of professional supervisory or lead experience in the electrical industry, required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), including Oracle, SAP, Maximo, or Maintenance Connection, required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy, excellent active listening abilities, and proficiency in interacting effectively with leadership, operations, contractors, and other departments. Capable of keeping all parties informed and providing timely follow-up.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple maintenance tasks effectively.
- Experience in continuous improvement and reliability is preferred.
