Genesis10 is currently seeking a VP of Emergency Services with our client in the healthcare industry located in Kingwood, TX. This is a full-time position.
Compensation: $142,958.00 - $214,448.00 per year, depending on skills and experience level. 15% Director bonus (Based on annual performance)
Shift: Monday - Friday
Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic planning and business development for the service line and identify opportunities to drive differentiation and improve the overall quality and delivery of services provided
- By developing and implementing strategic plans aligned to business objectives and engaging stakeholders as partners in the pursuit of excellence in patient care, the Vice President fosters a culture in which stakeholders are committed to the vision/mission/values of the organization
- Cultivate a superior clinical identity by leading the service line in the development and implementation of evidence-based practices, patient safety initiatives, and quality strategies
- Ensure standards of care are established
- Engage the medical staff as meaningful partners
- Lead efforts to reduce variation in clinical practice
- Drive performance improvement initiatives designed to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost
- Foster a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care.
- Stay abreast of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations
- Establish goals to differentiate the service line as a leader in quality and patient safety
- Meaningfully engage the medical staff in the pursuit of excellence in patient care
- Stay abreast of legal and regulatory standards and ensures compliance
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with all legal/regulatory standards
- Lead the development and implementation of patient throughput strategies, including capacity planning, volume forecasting, patient flow coordination, and admission/discharge planning
- Direct nursing practice and unit operations
- Develop policies, procedures, and nursing standards to ensure patient and family needs are assessed, met, and foster an unparalleled patient experience culture that differentiates the service line as the leading place to practice and receive healthcare, attracting physicians, caregivers, and patients
- Ensure physician alignment, engagement, and ease of access/practice
- Leverage various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction
- Develop and implement strategies to elevate the patient's experience
- Create and direct the implementation of a strategic roadmap designed to enhance patient experience and achieve optimal outcomes
- Foster a culture that inspires commitment to the vision/mission/values of the organization
- Ensure employees are recognized, valued, and supported
- Develop and implement strategies to elevate employee engagement
- Identify development opportunities or training needs of individual employees and teams
- Provide coaching, feedback, and training to improve performance

- Lead service line strategic planning and business development
- Identify stakeholder engagement strategies, new service offerings, technology advances, and other opportunities to drive differentiation and support the growth agenda
- Collaborate with administrative team and physicians to enhance existing services or develop new service offerings
- Stay abreast of external factors and opportunities impacting healthcare, including political and legislative changes, reimbursement trends, and advances in healthcare delivery
- Understand the competitive landscape and ensures service line is positioned strategically to respond to changing healthcare dynamics and market environments
- Develop and maintain strategic external relationships which advance the organization's position within the community, grow the business, and improve the health of communities served
- Foster robust referral networks
- Develop long- and short-range operational and capital plans aligned to business objectives
- Prioritize capital equipment needs
- Determine projected return on investment for capital and growth initiatives
- Monitor budget performance, identify trends, and evaluate variances in relation to established budget
- Develop and implement actions to address performance gaps
- Provide leadership and consultation to support cost effective clinical resource management, reduce variable costs, and enhance clinical effectiveness
- Manage operating expenses, including the utilization of supplies and equipment
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and implements actions to achieve savings
- Ensure effective labor management, including position control, scheduling excellence, productivity management, and premium pay utilization
- Maintain staffing to ensure appropriate patient care
- Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" and "Mission and Value Statement"
- Foster an unparalleled patient experience culture that differentiates the service line as the leading place to practice and receive healthcare, attracting physicians, caregivers, and patients
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and patient experience leaders to ensure compliance with evidence-based practices that enhance patient experience and customer service
Requirements:
- 5+ years of recent Director of ACUTE CARE Emergency Services/Emergency Department experience
- Experience leading large ERs with high volumes - 50k visits annually or more
- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree or other approved education plan
- BSN
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and or/has an active compact license, in accordance with the law and regulation
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
