  • Ability to operate small equipment such as lawn mowers and weed trimmers.
  • Ability to paint.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others as well as in a team environment.
  • Assists maintenance crews in the absence of personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned (i.e. wash trucks, clean shops, etc.)
  • Some experience in grounds and building maintenance and/or painting.

  • Performs food delivery, room set up and other set up duties for special events.
  • Performs routine maintenance of warehouse.

LABORATORY ASSISTANT

  • Prepares samples for analysis.
  • Conducts laboratory analysis of potable and wastewater samples (i.e., Alkalinity, Conductivity, total hardness, calcium, total suspended solids, and biochemical oxygen demand).
  • Prepares media and reagents for analyses.
  • Calibrates, performs general maintenance and troubleshoots both field equipment and laboratory equipment.
  • Performs data entry and basic keyboarding tasks using Microsoft Suite and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).

ENGINEERING/ INSPECTIONS ASSISTANT

FIELD SERVICES ASSISTANT

Position Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:

  • Possess a general knowledge of water quality collection procedures.
  • Ability to identify acceptable locations and water taps for sample collection.
  • Ability to collect water quality samples for Free/Total Chlorine, Monochloramines, Free Ammonia, Nitrites, pH, ATP and Temperature.
  • Ability to collect clean, aseptic water samples.
  • Able to properly calibrate and use field testing equipment to properly monitor water quality.
  • Able to properly calibrate and use laboratory equipment to properly monitor water quality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot QA/QC issues associated with methods and instrumentation.
  • Possess excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, as well as in a team environment.
  • Possess knowledge of Microsoft software.
  • Other duties as assigned (i.e. wash trucks, clean lab, etc.)
  • Ability to travel throughout Prince William Water distribution systems to collect/transport samples in a timely manner.
