Grounds Attendant

Summary

Responsible for performing grounds maintenance and removal of litter and from public parks, medians, and parkways.

Pay Range: $13.88 - $17.10 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Work Schedule: TBD

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of litter and debris from parks, medians, right of ways, grounds, and related facilities.

• Operate mowers, edgers, line trimmers, backpack flowers, tree trimmers and other equipment.

• Perform minor preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.

• Operate a city vehicle to assist in carrying out routine maintenance.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

• No experience required

• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Majority of work performed outside with exposure to extreme temperatures, rain, humidity, insects, odors, fumes, other hazards and physical exertion such as bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
