Job Description
The Software Engineering and Analytics Division (SEAD) within the Information and Communications Laboratory (ICL) is seeking an Administrative Student Assistant starting Summer 2025 semester. The Student Assistant will assist with the following:
- Perform administrative tasks required by supervisor and division.
- Serve as a problem solver and resource to 50+ personnel.
- Effectively collaborate with team to organize and execute various meetings, conferences, and events.
- Properly handle and store confidential/personal information.
- Provide exceptional customer service daily and maintain a positive attitude.
- Prepare travel pre-approvals and expense reports.
- Remain flexible while assisting with various projects and tasks.
- Maintain organized spreadsheets, word documents, and other files regarding division analytics, needs, and wants.
- Appropriately communicate with staff members and team; Including but not limited to in-person communication, Outlook emails, Slack/Skype direct messages, bulletin boards, surveys, and etc.
- Creatively plan and host virtual/in-person team building exercises and tasks such as quarterly birthday celebrations, scavenger hunts, game days/nights, etc
- Maintain supplies and inventory.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Student Assistant/Research Assistant
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Marketing, Industrial Engineering and Design, Nursing, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Arts or related fields
- Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university during working semesters
- 3.0 or higher GPA
Preferred Qualifications
- Be available to work 15- 20 hours per work week
- Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to:
o Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word) o Survey creation tools such as Survey Monkey or Qualtrics o Team communication tools such as Slack or Teams o Document sharing platforms such as DropBox or Box o Image design tools such as Canva or Adobe Suite o Virtual meeting tools such as WebEx and Zoom o Video editing tools such as the Adobe Illustrator Suite - Have an outgoing personality and positive attitude
- Be flexible and eager to learn
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Skilled in multi-tasking
- Project management skills
- Organization and process skills
- Pays attention to detail
- Task/team leadership experience
- Familiarity with Mac and Windows computers
