Overview

As a Senior Database Administrator (DBA), you'll be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance for various applications and systems.



Responsibilities

    Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to design and implement efficient and scalable database structures.
  • Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade database systems.
  • Perform data modeling and normalization to ensure data integrity and consistency.
  • Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks, implementing solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Perform routine database backups and recovery procedures.
  • Manage user access and permissions to ensure data security.
  • Analyze database performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement performance tuning techniques, such as indexing, query optimization, and resource allocation.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and resolve performance problems.
  • Implement and maintain database security measures, including user authentication, access control, and data encryption.
  • Monitor database security logs and identify potential threats.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database structures, procedures, and security configurations.
  • Document database changes and updates.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Desired: Technical certifications in the field of expertise.
  • 10 years of IT work experience in Database Operations.
  • Desired: Advanced knowledge of cloud architectures.
  • Enterprise Infrastructure systems.
  • Experience working in complex data center environments.
  • Occasionally up to 20%.
