Job Overview

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Cincinnati includes accomplished physicians, research scientists, clinical laboratory scientists, and administrative, technical, and clerical staff who support our work.

The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is seeking a candidate for a Research Assistant within a well-funded laboratory at the Center for Lipid and Atherosclerosis Studies (CLAS) at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and perform recombinant protein expression and purification strategies including preparing recombinant proteins from bacterial and mammalian cells.
  • Purifying apolipoproteins from human plasma by established protocols.
  • Perform experiments and record data according to research protocols.
  • Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data. May perform statistical and graphical analysis of data.
  • Apply research principals for less complex assignments.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.
