JOB INFORMATION
* Job Title: Engineer Senior (or) Engineer Lead * Grade: 58 (or) 59 * Job Code: 125856 (or) 125857 JOB SUMMARY
** This job is being posted across two skill levels (Senior and Lead). Applicants will be considered for the higher of the two levels in which they qualify ** LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
* Complex responsibilities related to primary focus of job area. Uses best practices and in-depth business knowledge to solve complex problems and improve products or services. May adapt procedures, processes and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Prepares engineering analysis for small/routine projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection. * All other duties as assigned. * Prepare and interpret schematics, drawings, layouts and other visual aids. * Supports company safety programs and initiatives by following all EHS and Operating procedures and adhering to established design standards. * Assists upper level engineers as directed while developing specialized engineering skills. * Reviews and critiques proposed changes to engineering standards, policies and guidelines. * Assures that all design specifications conform to the latest national and local codes, rules and regulations. * Conducts surveys to gather field data. * Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices. * Provides on-the-job training to new staff. * Functions as quality inspector or defines quality requirements on engineering designs and projects. * Manages multiple projects and associated budgets, schedules and resources. REQUIREMENTS
SENIOR * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or PE And 5 years related engineering experience (at least 3 years as an Engineer and a maximum of 2 years related experience which may include non-Engineer experience such as Engineering Internship, Design, Drafting, and Engineering Tech experience. This type of experience will be counted at half rate.) LEAD * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering And 6 years related engineering experience (at least 4 years as an Engineer and a maximum of 2 years related experience which may include non-Engineer experience such as Engineering Internship, Design, Drafting, and Engineering Tech experience. This type of experience will be counted at half rate.) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience with Inspection and maintenance of dams WORKING CONDITIONS
* May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather. * May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground and in confined spaces. * May require travel. * May be required to work non-standard work schedules. SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
* Member will not be required to drive in order to perform their job duties. * The operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including but not limited to, electric utilities, power generation or distribution; KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)
* Able to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities. * Ability to work within stringent deadlines. * Team Player. * Interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with diverse personalities. * In depth knowledge and experience in multiple engineering initiatives. * Self motivated. * Strong project leadership skills. * Able to work without supervision and make independent decisions. * Able to communicate effectively in speech and writing with members at all levels throughout the organization and outside professionals. * Strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills. Senior: $94,848 - $126,464 Lead: $104,312 - $139,069 |
