HJF is seeking an Intern whose work will involve performance of a variety of research tasks related to The Impact of Consolidation of the Health Care System on Inpatient Quality of Care: Evidence from the Natural Experiment in the U.S. Military Health System.

This position will be in support of the Preventative Medicine and Biostatistics department.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.


Responsibilities

  • Performs research projects following established instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Assists with administrative and research-related tasks.
  • Supports the preparation of technical reports, summaries, and protocols.
  • Assists with compiling references for manuscripts and other research documents.
  • Assists with the formatting and submission of manuscripts and conference materials.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attending and participating in required training for the role.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 0-2 years experience required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of standard labortory techniques.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust clearance.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Compensation

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $17.75 - $18.00. Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
