Summary of Role:

The Vice President of Cash Management is responsible for overseeing the institution's cash management and treasury operations to assist with financial stability and deposit optimization. This role involves managing banking relationships, monitoring cash positions, implementing cash management strategies and products, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Director will work closely with senior leadership, finance, lending, and operations teams to optimize deposits/cash handling, enhance member services, maximize revenues, and mitigate financial risks.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Liquidity & Cash Flow Management

    • Oversee Credit Union's Cash Management Operations

    • Review forecasting with finance to ensure adequate liquidity for operations and member transactions.

    • Maintain and consistently reviews cash management portfolio performance and trends

    • Implement automation and technology solutions to enhance cash management efficiency.

  • Treasury & Banking Operations

    • Manage relationships with correspondent banks and financial institutions to optimize cash management services.

    • Oversee electronic funds transfers (ACH, wire transfers, remote deposit capture) and payment processing.

    • Implement and manage treasury systems to enhance automation and efficiency in cash handling.

    • Support Middle Market and Business Banking members on recommendation and implementation of the CU's Cash Management offerings.

      • Offerings include ACH, Check Positive Pay, Account Analysis, Wire Platform and Alkami Online Banking

  • Monitor interest rate and fee trends and recommend strategies to CCBO and finance to maximize impact to balance sheet and income statement.

  • Oversee annual reviews and certifications of ACH and RDC members

  • Oversee 3rd party offerings and relationships with vendors such as Merchant Services and Payroll

  • Risk Management & Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with credit union regulations (e.g., NCUA, CFPB) related to treasury and cash management operations.

    • Develop and enforce internal controls and policies to mitigate fraud, operational risks, and regulatory violations.

    • Collaborate with auditors and regulators to ensure proper cash management practices are in place

    • Maintain deep understanding of current cash management compliance and regulatory requirements

    • Responsible for overseeing cash management audits

  • Member & Business Services Support

    • Perform account analysis of existing and prospective members.

    • Work closely with commercial and business banking teams to enhance cash management services for business members.

    • Develop and implement new cash management products and services, such as remote deposit, positive pay, and merchant services.

    • Assist in pricing strategies and fee structures for cash management solutions.

    • Make recommendations for additional products and service offerings that may benefit membership

  • Leadership & Strategic Planning

    • Responsible for leadership and management of the cash management team.

    • Develop the cash management team, providing training and professional development opportunities

    • In conjunction with the Chief Commercial Banking Officer, sets strategic direction for the Cash Management department

    • Collaborate with the CFO and executive leadership on financial planning and liquidity strategies.

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and technology enhancements to improve efficiency and member experience

    • Responsible for achieving annual revenue target

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CTP preferred) or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 7 years of experience in treasury, cash management, or financial operations, preferably within a credit union or banking institution.

  • Experience in staff management and individual coaching and performance.

  • Strong knowledge of credit union regulations, cash management products and operations, and treasury best practices

  • Experience with treasury management systems, payment processing platforms, and financial modeling.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills - collects and researches data, uses intuition and experience to compile and analyze data; designs work flows and procedures as appropriate for department efficiency.

  • Experience with ALM (Asset Liability Management).

  • Extensive experience with cash management solutions for business members.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work cross functionally - strong in terms of both oral and written communication; must be able to make effective group presentations with a focus on training staff regarding technical areas; must provide clear and concise written communications.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, project planning and the ability to multi-task.

  • External Representation - strong relationship skills necessary to publicly represent Commercial Business Banking and/or Broadview FCU in a positive manner.

  • Computer Skills - must possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook with the demonstrated ability to learn other software as needed. Prior experience utilizing Customer Manager Relationship (CRM) software (ex: software).

  • Problem solving - identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations.

  • Interpersonal skills -works well with diverse groups of people; treats others with respect and dignity at all times; focuses on solving conflict without hostility; works towards achievement of mutual goals.

  • Adaptability- adapts to changes in the work environment; changes approach or method to best fit the situation.

Starting Compensation: $175,000-$200,000 annually, plus a competitive benefits package.
