The Serenity Gift Shop Retail Associate is responsible for assisting customers with the purchasing of items within the Sibley Serenity Gift Shop. Duties include maintaining customer satisfaction and positive relations with fellow employees, volunteers, physicians, visitor and supplies; providing sales assistance to customers; and ensuring the shop shelves are stocked with appropriate goods.

40 hours/FT

Weekends REQUIRED

Education:

• High school graduate or an equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Minimum Experience:

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, customer service oriented.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greets and assists all customers in the gift shop in a friendly, courteous, and helpful manner.
• Ability to describe and assist patients in selecting skincare, post-surgical garments, and headwear appropriate for their specific surgery or treatment.
• Ability to describe and assist customer in selecting high quality merchandise including fine jewelry and gift items.
• Handles all phases of cash register sales, including scanning of items using bar code reader, discounts, voids, charges, returns, reports, and cash sales.
• Assists in stocking of shelves with goods and retail inventory. Keeps shelves in neat and orderly fashion daily.
• Assists in performing an inventory count of retail inventory as directed by the Retail Manager.
• Ensures inventory items are properly stocked and accounted for to maintain par levels.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Has a working knowledge of available inventory. Has knowledge of price and selection of goods on hand.
• Assists with store displays and design as needed.
• Maintains superior and quality customer service by consistently greeting customers in an open and professional manner. Meets customer requests or demands to the best of his/her ability. Completes sales transactions with accuracy, securing the customer's privacy.
• Performs other duties as assigned by department head.

Salary Range: Minimum $1.00/hour - Maximum $1,000.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
