In this dynamic role, you'll oversee the manufacture of industrial insulating gases for high and voltage systems, ensuring strict adherence to quality, HSE, and environmental standards. You'll operate, test, inspect, troubleshoot, and perform necessary activities in the gas plant to ensure optimal production. Your expertise will help maintain and organize inventory, preventing bottlenecks in the manufacturing process and managing work orders to meet delivery deadlines. Advocate for safety, especially in gas plant operations. Ensure final product meets stringent purity and quality standards. Configure and operate computerized gas plant systems safely and reliably. Handle and prepare high-pressure gas cylinders for filling. Inspect and maintain filling apparatus, pressure gauges, and safety devices. Manage inventory of plant consumables and ensure cylinders are in satisfactory condition. Perform routine gas analysis, post-fill inspections, and quality checks. Maintain accurate records of filling processes and comply with regulations. Package finished products and assist with loading and unloading. Manage paperwork related to DOT, FDA, and OSHA standards. Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly plant environment. Conceptualize, design, and implement plant improvement projects.
Background:
Associate college diploma in a technical field (chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering preferred). Trade education and experience such as a Chemist or Electrical trade background with 5 years of industry experience. 3+ years of experience in gas handling industries, chemical processing, or related fields. Mechanical and electrical competence, including 3 phase 480V systems. Understanding of compressed gas safe working practices. Detail-oriented, disciplined, with a strong appreciation for quality and cleanliness. General understanding of chemistry and ability to identify chemical hazards. Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills. Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word & Excel). Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States. Fluent in English.
