POSITION OVERVIEW

Acts as front-line Supervisor to staff within the Community Based Programs division. Interviews, makes hiring recommendations, and orients direct support staff. Ensures the success of support for individuals served in accordance with the organization's policies, the program guidelines, all applicable licensure regulations, and all related laws. Act as the primary point of contact for families served ensuring satisfaction with service delivery. Provide programmatic supervision of staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Encourages and honors each person to be the decision maker in his/her life
  • Interacts with each person with an understanding that the person is capable and competent
  • Performs all job duties with the understanding that what is most important is that which is important to the individual supported.
  • Confirms at all times the health and safety of each individual supported and apply emergency procedures as necessary
  • Maximizes staff performance by providing ongoing feedback, development and training as needed. Conducts 90 day and annual performance evaluations.
  • Ensures through mentoring, guidance, and feedback that employees' approach to services are congruent with the needs, wants and desires of each individual supported and the policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Facilitates the development of relationships between direct support staff and the individuals supported.
  • Creates an environment where direct reports feel valued, respected, and trusted.
  • Accepts ownership of and assures that relevant information, including but not limited to, senior management decisions, new initiatives, policies, and procedures, is properly communicated to program staff. Provides guidance, manages perceptions, and ensures staff understanding and compliance.
  • Ensures that team members feel united in reaching the common goal of providing exceptional support to the individuals served. Fosters teams that feel connected to the organization and the resources available to them.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, dignity, and respect towards individuals supported, co-workers, management, and other associates both within the organization and outside the company.
  • Serves as a constant positive role model with the individual supported, staff members, co-workers, management, and others both within the organization and outside the company.
  • Conducts external presentations that promote agency mission, philosophies, methods, and program services and as need arises, as this is not a core function or requested from program leadership
  • Participates in development of grants, new programs, educational opportunities, agency policies and operational procedures.

Licensing and Contractual Compliance:


  • Act in accordance with all agency policies, state and federal regulations, local monitoring standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Submits required information such as physical examinations, vehicle insurance and vehicle registration administrative staff as requested by stated deadlines.
  • Ensures compliance by all direct care staff with federal, state, county and other applicable licensure regulations and related laws
  • Reports all violations of agency policies, state or federal regulations, local monitoring standards, or contractual requirements immediately to Program Manager.

Administrative:


  • Provides supervision and training to support staff.
  • Complies with all InVision Human Services policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
  • Correctly and accurately completes and submits by stated deadline, InVision Human Services required documents such as timesheets, expense reports and progress notes.
  • Coordinates and develops person centered plans and circles of support, in conjunction with support staff and others involved.
  • Performs functions of program including development, monitoring, review, and revision of program plans and the resulting goals.
  • Facilitates implementation of all supports as specified in the person-centered plan, individual program plan, personal goals, and support plans.
  • Develops specialized support plans, in conjunction with the team, which address psychiatric, behavioral, or other concerns, for each person served.
  • Coordinates specialized services as needed for each person supported.
  • Meets frequently with individual supported, their families and other appropriate parties to evaluate satisfaction, elicit suggestions and explain policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to schedule for arrival time, scheduled appointments, and other company related meetings.
  • Attends training as required, attends, and facilitates required meetings and attends regularly scheduled supervision with Program Manager.
  • Proactively feeds information upwards to keep management well informed of issues effecting operations.
  • Utilizes computer equipment and programs to provide for efficient and effective communication and workflow.
  • Coordinates referrals for services and records admissions into the Community Based Program.
  • Reviews and verifies, and approves documentation completed by Community Based Program staff and ensures utilization standards are met
  • Interviews, and makes hiring recommendations for direct care staff openings
  • Participates with the orientation of new direct care staff, ensuring the scheduling of required training.
  • Responds effectively and in a timely fashion to communications
  • Seeks out ways to improve quality and effectiveness of services, consistent with established mission, values, and strategic objectives.
  • Takes personal responsibility for own learning and development that contribute to professional growth and encourages staff to continually increase their knowledge and effectiveness
  • Creates and maintains effective interpersonal working relationships and functions as a member of the leadership team.
  • Coordinates and provides 24 hour on-call support to direct support staff during designated periods.

Financial Management:


  • Reviews and verifies financial documents such as payroll and expenses
  • Monitors expenses for appropriateness with regard to amount and purpose based upon budgetary consideration and ISP content.
  • Document and account for all financial transactions related to persons supported.
  • Requests or makes programmatic expenditures within approved individual budgets.
  • Secures funding authorizations for new admissions into Community Based Program; provide all documentation required for purposes of billing for services.
  • Provides full documentation of all expenditures made on behalf of the agency and/or each individual supported.
  • Reports immediately any discrepancies related to use of personal or agency funds.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Program Manager

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises all staff within Community Based Programs working with assigned cases.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree accredited four-year college or university in social services, business, or a related field is required plus 1 year experience working with people in a service capacity or equivalent combination of education and work history. Experience must include a minimum of three years experience in a direct support position or the equivalent experience in a supervisory and/or management role. A combination of the above experience is preferred.

Other Requirements:


  • Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from clients, families, regulatory agencies, and the community
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information to senior management, public groups and/or Boards of Directors
  • Ability to comprehend access and utilize electronic medium and various computer programs.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply basic mathematical concepts
  • Competency in prioritizing multiple and competing projects

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
