General Purpose and Scope of Position:

Channel Partners is a team working within the Retail/Wholesale group of Wilbur Ellis. Channel Partners primarily focuses on the Value Added segment of the business selling the Wilbur Ellis Proprietary Products. It is a very diverse group of products including Nutrition, Adjuvants, Specialty Actives, Organic, and Pro Markets products. Specially, Channel Partners sells these products to retailers and distributors either in the Wilbur Ellis brand, through Private Labeling, or within an exclusive Brand for Channel Partners referred to as the RZT Brand. Although we primarily focus on the Value Added segment, we do offer limited Crop Protection Brands to help segment from our competitors and enhance our relations with our customers.

The role of the Channel Partners Regional Territory Manager is to create demand for these products mostly outside the Wilbur Ellis footprint and be the main contact for the Channel Partners customers regarding all Branded (Actives, Adjuvants, Nutrition, and Organic) Products. This position includes sales, technical, forecasting, pricing, and sales planning activities.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • Ability to assist with creating and maintaining product sales support materials for your customers with assistance and direction from the Branded Products and Strategic Marketing teams.
  • Follow corporate, Branded Products Team, and Wilbur-Ellis brand strategies.
  • Ability to support the development and implementation of internal and external marketing programs.
  • Experience Managing a Sales Portfolio and executing on a written Business Plan.
  • 5 years of actual sales experience preferred.
  • Experience selling Value Added Nutrition products is a plus.
  • Experience working with Product Forecasts.
  • Basic understanding of pricing principles and margin generation.
  • Strong Agronomic background is a must.
  • Experience scouting crops and making recommendations is preferred.
  • Strong Nutrition background with a solid understanding of the Fertilizer business.
  • Understanding of research trials and the value of data.

  • Demonstrated direction-setting around regional forecasting processes.
  • Skill in providing sales coaching and motivation.
  • High degree of leadership ability including building relationships with cross functional team members.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to set priorities.
  • Skilled in creative and critical thinking.
  • Must be a self starter.

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • The assigned Territory for this role is the West Coast; California, Oregon, and Washington State.
  • Anticipated travel is 35%.
  • The candidates responsibilities are to generate demand for Wilbur Ellis Branded products with Regional Distributors, Independent Retailers, Applicators, and Seed Dealers.
  • There is an established book of business with significant opportunity for growth.
  • Primary focus is on the RZT (Red Zone Technologies) which is an exclusive Private Label Brand just for the Channel Partners business.
  • That said, the candidate will have access to the entire portfolio of Branded Products and will have limited access to other Crop Protection brands where it makes sense to create product bundles for the customer.
  • Ultimately, the goal is to position RZT and Branded products which drive higher margins.
  • Product orders will be placed through customer service and shipments will deliver from a centrally located public warehouses or from Wilbur Ellis Distribution centers.
  • Performing and assisting with Sales Team, Dealer, and Grower product meetings.
  • Providing pricing guidance to Channel Partners customers on Branded Products.
  • Provide Branded Product communication to all levels of Wilbur-Ellis within the assigned geography, including product introductions, product updates/positioning, and other product support materials that are developed.
  • Enhancing the ability to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Ensuring processes are managed for maximum efficiency (Pricing, Forecasting, and Business Planning).

Compensation and Benefits:

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $102,800-$144,020. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
  • This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, includingan employer contribution of up to7% into your 401(k).
