Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a three-shift manufacturing environment. You will directly manage a team of four direct reports while overseeing approximately 125 indirect reports, working collaboratively to maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards. Your role is critical in driving continuous improvement initiatives and optimizing resources to meet operational goals. In addition, you will work closely with EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety), Engineering, Maintenance, and Materials teams to support daily operations, troubleshoot production challenges, and implement best practices in lean manufacturing. Your ability to lead and develop teams, resolve issues in real time, and maintain a high-performance culture will be key to success. The work model for the role is: Onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification Installation Products division at the Manufacturing Facility in Hackettstown, NJ. You will be mainly accountable for: *Supervising and supporting a three-shift production operation, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment across shifts. *Directly managing four supervisors, while providing leadership and guidance to approximately 125 indirect reports across multiple shifts. *Driving performance by monitoring key production metrics, including efficiency, downtime, scrap reduction, and throughput. *Supporting and implementing process improvements that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall product quality. *Collaborating with Engineering and Maintenance teams to identify and resolve equipment or process issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. *Fostering a safety-first culture, ensuring strict adherence to OSHA, EPA, and internal safety regulations. *Coaching, mentoring, and developing employees, ensuring proper training and career growth opportunities for production team members. *Ensuring that all operational policies and standard procedures are consistently applied and enforced across all shifts.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing including 5+ years of leadership experience, ideally in a multi-shift environment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems and production tracking tools.
- Strong knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations with a focus on maintaining compliance and fostering a safe work environment.
- Proven ability to manage and develop teams, particularly in high-volume manufacturing operations.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
