Our team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for an Electrical Engineering Supervisor (Section Head) to join the Test Equipment team. You will report to the Team Equipment Site Engineering Manager and will have a hybrid work schedule in East Aurora, NY.

As an Electrical Engineering Supervisor (Section Head), you will:

  • Lead a team of electrical engineers assigned to develop test equipment in the Aircraft Group. Serve as direct supervisor for your direct reports, providing technical mentoring and training to develop your team's competency, skills, and efficiency to meet test equipment engineering global standards.

  • Work together with the Test Equipment Site Manager to assign engineers to projects; accountable for your team's performance in the execution of their project responsibilities.

  • Ensure process compliance and participate in process development to improve efficiency and rigor.

  • Perform performance reviews for assigned staff and participate in workforce planning and recruiting/hiring.

  • International engagement is a routine element of this role, and occasional travel (5-10%)

  • Serve as a direct individual contributor to assigned projects at 50 - 75% capacity. In order to serve directly as an electrical engineer on Test Equipment (TE) projects, and to effectively mentor the assigned team, you will need familiarity in the following disciplines:

    • Analog/Digital Circuit Design

    • Electronic Test Console (ETC) Design for ATP, QTP for flight control system components

    • Design of Real-time HIL/SIL test systems for complex flight control systems

    • Cabling design for flight control test systems

    • Electromechanical design and packaging

    • Printed Wiring Board (PWB) Design

To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • BS degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering plus a minimum of 6 years or more experience in a broad application of electrical engineering skills

  • Broad experience with development of a variety of engineering drawings, schematics, and technical reports, thereby possessing a strong ability to review, critique, and approve the engineering work of others (PLM Technical Approver role)

It'd be great if you also had:

  • Master of Science degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering

  • Experience in the aerospace or other highly regulated industry

  • Strong people skills in order to lead assigned team, interface with other section heads, and global managers, and assist with globally matrixed projects

  • Working familiarity with the following tools and standards:

    • DOORS requirements management system

    • Cadence and OrCAD

    • PSPICE or LTSPICE

    • Teamcenter PLM

    • IPC-620, IPC-630, J-STD-001, NFPA-79

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $115,000.00-$140,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
