East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) invites qualified persons to apply for this part-time position in the Mokelumne Recreation Unit of the Natural Resources Department. The part-time Recreation Area Attendant will work 10 - 32 hrs per week seasonally (832 hours maximum per year) and will be primarily responsible for conducting vessel inspections of boats entering Camanche and Pardee Reservoir as part of EBMUD's Quagga Mussel Prevention Program. Other duties may include assisting EBMUD rangers in the operations and maintenance of EBMUD's recreation areas. The selected candidate MUST be able to swim, work from a boat on the reservoir (servicing floating restrooms), perform physically demanding tasks, deal effectively with the public during challenging contacts, and work in adverse weather as required. The current part-time opening is in the Camanche and Pardee Reservoir area, approximately 35 miles east of Stockton.
Typical duties of the position include:
*Conducting Vessel Inspections of different types of watercraft entering EBMUD reservoirs;
*Participating in various trainings and training other staff to conduct vessel inspections;
*Sharing information on rules and regulations, facilities, etc. with members of the public;
*Completing data entry, logs, and other required forms;
*Participating in equipment/boat maintenance and operate hand/power tools, radios, etc.;
*Assisting with recreation area improvements;
*Working from boats to assist with reservoir maintenance duties including restroom cleaning.

1.High school graduation or its equivalent;

3.Possession of a California driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
Other Requirements: Must be physically able to perform critical and important duties of the job including: hearing well enough to communicate in person/by telephone; seeing well enough to read small handwritten and computer-generated type; standing, walking, kneeling, bending for long periods of time throughout a shift; performing physical work requiring coordination; and manual dexterity to use hand/power tools and computer keyboards. Will be required to work overtime, holidays, and all weekends. Must be willing to wear uniform and required safety gear in the course of duty. Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and the public.
