Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced geologic expertise and leadership in support of DOE, DoD, and commercial projects, ensuring project compliance with geological, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Conduct and oversee geologic field investigations, including drilling, sampling, logging, and groundwater assessments.
  • Interpret geologic data from field investigations and laboratory tests to develop reports, conceptual site models, and risk assessments.
  • Lead the development and implementation of geological strategies for site characterization and remediation projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for submission to clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, environmental, and project management departments, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage the activities of junior geologists, ensuring that project goals and objectives are met on time and within budget.
  • Perform geologic data analysis using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and geotechnical modeling tools.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, providing guidance on environmental impact, permitting, and remediation.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders on assigned projects.
  • Stay current with advances in geologic practices and integrate innovative methodologies into project work as necessary.

Education, Experience and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field (required); Master's Degree in Geology (preferred).
  • 7-10 years of experience in geological, geotechnical, or environmental projects, preferably in DOE or DoD sectors (required).
  • Licensed Professional Geologist (PG) certification (required).
  • Extensive experience in conducting geologic investigations, soil and rock characterization, groundwater modeling, and environmental remediation (required).
  • Experience with geotechnical and geospatial software such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD (preferred).
  • Must receive a satisfactory pre-hire drug screen and background check.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements.
