Phoenix Defense is seeking applicants for Aircraft Mechanic III positions at Ft. Eustis, VA. This position is in support of the Warfighter-Training Readiness Solutions Program (W-TRS). This position is contingent upon contract award. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: * Inspecting aircraft and subsystems for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, as well as conducting spot checks and audits of site programs and processes * Providing technical direction to less experienced mechanics, troubleshooting problems, and performing root cause analysis of failures * Review work packages for completeness and accuracy * Make the required database entries into the Electronic Maintenance Records system * Run weekly and Ad Hoc reports from Electronic Maintenance Records system * Conduct root cause analysis investigation of failure of parts or process * Conduct and record trend analysis. * Demonstrate leadership by guiding teams through complex, aircraft-related tasks * Effectively prioritize workload, ensuring organized and timely completion of assigned projects * This worker may be required to be licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * A minimum of eight (8) years' relevant experience in aircraft maintenance * High school diploma or equivalent * Knowledge of various aviation or aerospace practices * Knowledge of various aviation inspection practices and quality standards * A minimum of 4 years of experience with the application & use of technical data/blueprints * A minimum of 4 years of experience analyzing situations to discover facts, knowledge, and interpretations to carry out prescribed action(s) * A minimum of 4 years' experience with aircraft logbooks and airworthiness release of aircraft. * Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook) PREFERRED SKILLS: * In-depth knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair * A foundational understanding of electrical theory * Extensive familiarity with specialized aircraft tools, including but not limited to, test equipment, torque wrenches, and dial indicators * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Obtain/maintain a valid state driver's license and installation driving privileges Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities
