We are seeking a
Mechanical CAD Designer with a focus on PCBs to join our growing team. This position will support the Cable/Harness and PCB documentation process, working closely with project EEs and ECAD personnel to create final documentation packages for ECO processing.
How you will make an impact at a Mechanical CAD Detailer/Designer:
- Work with archived ZIP packages to generate required PCB documentation (i.e. BOM, SCH, ASC, PCB, GER, ASM, PnP, FAB, and ODB), as well as ACLs and CCs
- Create PCB Assembly drawings using Downstream Technologies BluePrint-PCB application
- Create coversheets for Populated and Bare boards using Microsoft Word
- Modify BOMs to contain project specific information using Microsoft Excel
- Prepare and release cable/harness drawings developed using Visio, Altium Designer, or SolidWorks Electrical
- In addition to the responsibilities detailed above, this role also performs the following duties:
- As an integral part of the engineering group, actively participate in the development of designs on multiple programs, starting with initial concepts to final details
- Use Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks to create, develop and maintain solid models
- Develop complete assembly drawings and bill of materials
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of product drawings
- Prepare design layout drawings and understand tolerance analysis
- Create and process ECOs, TCOs, Procurement Specifications, Revised Documentation and Obsolete Master
Skills you need to be successful:
- Formal education and minimum of 5 years' experience in this area of responsibility
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and report updates to the programs and management
- Electronic / Mechanical design aptitude
- Detail, layout, design drafting functions per ASME Y14.5 and IPC standards
- Computer skills consistent with but not limited to the following software packages:
- Altium
- PADS
- Downstream Technologies BluePrint-PCB
- Solidworks PDM and Solidworks Electrical
- Microsoft Office suite
- Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Surround SCM knowledge preferred
- Autodesk Inventor/Vault knowledge preferred
- R&D and Documentation Control experience preferred
