About the History Department The Department of History teaches students across Drexel University in online, in-person and hybrid formats. Departmental strengths are in global history and the history of science, technology and the environment. Its experiential-learning opportunities include site visits and archival work. Most courses are four credits, meeting four hours per week in person, online, or in a hybrid format (typically three hours in-person and one hour online). In-person teaching takes place at Drexel's main University City campus. Drexel is on the quarter system; terms are ten weeks long plus a final exam week. Job Summary The adjunct faculty member will employ a variety of strategies to foster student learning and discussions, as well as encourage active learning in all students, maintain proper course-related records, and evaluate student work and provide students with feedback as to the progress toward meeting the objectives of the course. Each adjunct faculty member is responsible for effectively teaching students in the assigned classroom or online. Responsibilities may include teaching days or evenings, with the potential for online only, in-person only, or a combination of both. Essential Functions
