FTE: 1.0, Shift: Day, Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 5:00pm & Friday, 8:00am - 12:00pm

Position Summary

Performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions. Performs polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient care and education for pediatric and adult patients. Scores and analyzes sleep studies. Generates summaries and reports for providers. Assists in maintaining general operations of the Memorial Sleep Lab which may include evaluation of supplies, equipment, procedures, payroll, staff education and orientation, tech competencies, evaluations, financials, schedules and mentoring as assigned.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Reviews and scores sleep studies following the appropriate scoring guidelines as outlined by the AASM.
2. Generates accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event date.
3. Generates analysis summaries to accurately reflect recorded and scored data.
4. Generates necessary reports for each type of study (NPSG, PAP, MSLT, MWT, etc.) for review by the interpreting physician.
5. Performs daytime studies including MSLT, MWT, PSG and PAP as required.
6. Monitors and makes adjustments, working with co-workers to maintain goal of scoring all studies within one business day of completion of acquisition.
7. Completes monthly Inter-Scorer Reliability with accuracy of 85% when compared to scoring completed by the Medical Director or designee in the areas of sleep staging, micro-arousals, respiratory events and limb movements.
8. Assists clinic patients with questions and needs related to treatment related issues including mask fittings, PAP machine maintenance, sleep hygiene, etc.

9. Maintains board certification by achieving a minimum of 10 CEUs (Continuing Education Credits) per year.
10. Remains knowledgeable and compliant with departmental, managerial, and human resource policies and procedures and ensure they are followed within the Sleep Center.
11. Work with the Memorial Sleep Specialists Manger and Human Resources to resolve personnel issues in a fair, consistent, and timely manner.
12. Proactively identifies personnel needs and work with the Memorial Sleep Specialists Manager and Human Resources to develop a plan for recruitment and retention of staff.
13. Work swith Memorial Sleep Specialists Manager and the Patient Experience department to respond to and follow up on all patient complaints.
14. Actively monitors and maintains knowledge of JCAHO, Washington State Department of Health, Academy of Sleep Medicine, and other appropriate regulatory agencies.
15. Assures that staff completes Quality Management Reports as needed. Follows up on all QM reports as required by management policy.
16. Assists in the operating and productivity data, identify variances, and report variances within the Sleep Lab to the Divisional VP monthly. Work with the Memorial Sleep Specialists Manager to develop a plan to correct budget variances as appropriate.
17. Works with the Memorial Sleep Specialists Manager to achieve the agreed upon productivity target goals for the Sleep Center.
18. Assists in the development and implementation of regularly scheduled Sleep Specialists department meetings.
19. Regularly communicates to staff the following items: Departmental operations, hospital issues, regulatory changes, items from monthly leadership meetings, and other items as deemed necessary.
20. Attends monthly leadership meetings, division Meetings, and quality management meetings as assigned or in the absence of the Memorial Sleep Specialists Manager.
21. Assists in maintaining time and attendance data entry for accurate payroll.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in all phases of acquisition, titration and scoring of sleep studies including MSLT, MWT and seizure montages required. Previous experience in a supervisory position with strong leadership skills preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: American Heart Association BLS required. Certification as an RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) through the BRPT (Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) and/or as an RST (Registered Sleep Technologist) through the ABSM (American Board of Sleep Medicine) required.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $33.19 - $47.75 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
