Job Description: The People & Culture Generalist will support a rapidly growing factory operation in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, training and development, benefit enrollment, compensation, and retention. The group is comprised of skilled laborers as well as office-based workers in a factory environment. The ideal candidate will have experience building strong relationships with business partners to drive HR Initiatives and enjoy working face to face with employees.
- Facilitates the hiring processes from job posting, participate in interview process and conduct new hire orientation.
- Supports Employee engagement and retention programs.
- Collaborate with other members of the local HR team, as well as management for prioritization, feedback, and approvals on requisitions and offers.
- Supports annual performance management process and assists with ongoing performance management communications throughout the year.
- Administers workers compensation claims, OTJ injuries.
- Responsible for employee relations including investigations, documentation and problem solving.
- Works on special projects relating to the development/revision of HR programs and procedures.
- Delivers training related to Human Resources programs.
- Supports HR group by contributing to ongoing process improvements in the HR department.
- Acts as first point of contact for payroll and status changes.
- Provides administrative support for local HR department, including collecting and sorting mail, ensuring delivery of mail to appropriate parties, processing reimbursements for safety glasses, safety shoes, and education / tuition assistance, employee file management, etc.
- Process employee data changes in Workday and ADP and coordinating with payroll department on data transfer timing and approvals.
- Assist with new hire boarding, first day steps and new hire orientation.
- Establishing, organizing, and supervising the maintenance of department records, ensuring complete accuracy and confidentiality.
- Responding to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance
- Schedule meetings, interviews, HR, and company events etc. and maintain the team's agenda
- Experience in recruitment of skilled labor positions
- 3+ years HR experience supporting a business with a large number of hourly personnel
- Knowledge of employment laws and other government compliance regulations
- Microsoft Office and HRIS experience a preferred
- Attention to Detail and excellent Time Management skills
- Bachelor's degree Human Resources Management or other related degree
- Will accept 5+ years in Generalist experience in leu of degree
Preferred Application Skills:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience running reports in Excel, experience with Workday and ADP
- SHRM or PHR certification (or desired to obtain)
