Summary of Primary Functions: Work to improve our production processes to make Tindall more efficient and cost effective by either developing and implementing solo projects or supporting existing projects lead by full-time industrial engineers. Also use intern experiences to cultivate skills necessary to move into a full-time industrial engineering role after graduation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.

  • Complete orientation portion of the Tindall training program including time in production, QC, field, and support operations.

  • Complete IE technical portion of the Tindall training program, including process analysis, work design, work measurement, work standards, work plans, routings, and labor performance reporting per Tindall standard practices.

  • Design solutions for process improvement based on data collected or supplied.

  • Lead process improvement initiatives in the production facility.

  • Initiate projects to address inefficiencies observed in the production facility.

  • Collect and analyze data to support creative solutions.

  • Report project progress and results to management, including the senior leadership team.

  • Develop strong working relationships with employees in all production departments to use as resources for future projects.

  • Create automated data reporting tools to keep management informed on productionperformance.

  • At the conclusion of the internship, develop and implement a final process improvement project, including the presentation of findings, recommendations, and results to senior management.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Specifications & Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Must be pursuing a degree in industrial engineering (or related field) in an ABET-accredited program. Must have completed course work studying or have practical experience with work measurement. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
