Position Description
Maintains Santee Cooper vehicles & equipment by performing repairs and preventative maintenance as required. Initiates and ensures that safety & environmental practices and procedures are followed on all job tasks.
Essential Job Tasks:
Evaluates and performs minor repair or replacement of (light & heavy) vehicle & equipment systems and components. Performs general troubleshooting of system failures (with & without Fleet Tech A assistance) using manufacturer's procedures, diagnostic equipment, experience and job knowledge. Systems include but are not limited to: hydraulic, pneumatic, fiber optic, electrical and system communication modules, air condition, fuel and ignition, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), diesel after-treatment, and drive line components. Performs other duties as required such as preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, wrecker calls, change & repair tires, general house keeping and some fabricating & modifying vehicle & equipment structures through the use of welding & cutting equipment. Completes all job related paperwork, order parts, create and complete work orders, prepare new fleets and equipment for use, and enter all pertinent vehicle maintenance data into an automotive based computer system using asset management software.

Fleet Technician A
High School Diploma or GED +5 years experience. An unrestricted Class A (Except P) Commercial Drivers Licenses with appropriate endorsements required within 6 months of employment. Forklift, A/C refrigerant recovery and recycling certification required within 6 months of employment. 24 hour on call status is required. Various welding skills, Bucket & Derrick Truck, Personnel lift, Crane (No Load) and Rigging certifications may also be required.
Compensation Information
$29.45 - $36.80 (min. - mid.)
Fleet Technician B
High School Diploma or GED +2 years experience. An unrestricted Class A (Except P) Commercial Drivers Licenses with appropriate endorsements required within 6 months of employment. Forklift, A/C refrigerant recovery and recycling certification required within 6 months of employment. 24 hour on call status is required. $23.85 - $29.80 (min. - mid.)
