Job Description: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Team Intern to support our Safety Department with administrative tasks and process improvement efforts. This role will work closely with Safety leadership, to help ensure compliance, streamline operations, and enhance our overall safety culture. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in safety, risk management, compliance, or construction operations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the administration and coordination of random drug and alcohol testing pools
- Support the maintenance of DOT (Department of Transportation) driver qualification files, ensuring compliance with federal regulations
- Contribute to the development and buildout of our Safety Hub, including organizing resources and documentation
- Assist with onsite safety testing coordination, including scheduling, documentation, and follow-up
- Help document and improve safety processes and procedures, ensuring consistency and clarity
- Prepare and organize agendas and materials for safety team meetings and trainings
- Perform general safety administrative tasks as assigned, supporting the day-to-day operations of the safety team
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and accuracy when handling safety-related data
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn internal systems quickly
- Interest in safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Base Compensation: $20.00/hr
The base salary range may vary depending on geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience.
