Cost Estimator

Spectra Tech has an immediate need for a Cost Estimator in our corporate office in Oak Ridge, TN.

Position Description:

• Prepares and updates Engineering and Installation Construction Cost Estimates using Success Estimator and/ or Excel spreadsheets via related software. Cost estimates developed from engineering estimates for facility modifications (replacement of chiller packages, MCC panels, ATS switchgear and other facility improvements).
• Prepares and updates cost estimates using "Success Estimator" or equivalent computer software along with use of RSMeans for the development of construction cost estimates.
• Recommends modification to Work Breakdown Structures & Project schedules for related cost estimates.
• Prepares cost estimate reports for internal and external customers.
• Conducts data searches and compiles information, as requested by Client to be included in Project Cost Estimate report to support preparation of routine and special-purpose information.
• Supports development and preparation of forecasts and planning estimates for input to Project cost, schedule, and performance baseline updates or changes.
• Assists Project Engineer with preparation and maintenance of cost estimate documentation and records.

Job Requirements:

• Good comprehension of the development of cost estimates for facility modifications for engineering and construction activities as well as the project controls processes and practices.
• Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Success Estimator, Excel or other cost estimating software preferred. May be proficient with other cost software.
• Working knowledge in Microsoft products for spreadsheets and word processing. Additional knowledge in databases a plus.
• Experience in developing cost estimates of facility modifications
• Developing and implementing project controls policies and processes.
• Experience and demonstrated understanding of project management concepts and products developed by the project management tool, i.e.....resource charts, Pert charts, Gantt charts, concepts of float, schedule status, revisions, etc.
