Job Description

Job Description: Nature and Level of Work:
Skilled work on a journey level in the fabrication of parts and assembly of components. All work is subject to spot checking and inspection for conformance to specifications and accepted standards of the trade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and consult with client regarding machining needs; design to accomplish desired result.
  • Design and fabricate parts for tools, maintenance or lab equipment, vehicle attachments or a variety of other apparatus requiring skilled machining; utilize precision measuring instruments to acquire close tolerance cuts and shapes.
  • Operate large variety of machining equipment and tools including lathe, drill press, milling machine, etc.; work with various metals, plastics, glass or ceramics to construct equipment or instrumentation per client request. Observe and enforce all safety requirements related to equipment operation.
  • Repair machine parts or castings; build up shafts, gears or other machine parts to desired dimensions or shape; perform heating, cutting or burning operations. Overhaul pumps and motor bearing replacements.
  • Perform preventive and daily maintenance on tools and machines including lubrication, cleaning and replacement of parts, sharpen cutting tools; clean work areas. Clean, maintain, safely operate and properly store all tools and equipment.
  • May perform or assist in the preparation of cost estimates, material orders, reports and maintenance of records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Shift

7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday

Minimum Qualifications

* A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
* Four years actual work experience and training which may include equivalent of apprenticeship or completion of vocational training in trade.
* Ability to read blueprints, plans, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
* Skill in maintenance and use of tools, equipment and materials of applicable trade.

Preferred Qualifications

Must possess a valid driver's license, which will allow legal operation of a motor vehicle in the State of Missouri.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $26.00 - $28.50 per hour

Grade: GGS-F
