ABOUT THE JOB

The Warehouse Supervisor provides a broad range of support services for the Helena Product Group (HPG) warehouse including maintenance, sample shipping, procurement and waste management.

This position is with Helena Products Group (HPG). HPG develops Helena's extensive portfolio of proprietary products that includes seven product categories covering both crop production and crop protection. HPG leads the industry in creating innovations and formulation technologies and operates out of a state-of-the-art research, development and training facility located in Memphis, TN.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE




  • Prepares samples of products for shipping.
  • Logs all incoming and outgoing packages in the facility. This includes properly labeling their identity and date of receipt.
  • Assists in preparing lab equipment, supplies and setup for testing and sampling.
  • Coordinates the receiving of samples and supplies and distributes them to appropriate lab team members and/or facility employees.
  • Procures supplies and samples as directed by lab team.
  • Performs general repairs in the facility.
  • Maintains all records of chemicals, apparatus and samples received for testing in the laboratory to stay in compliance with regulatory requirements for sample shipping and hazardous waste disposal.
  • Requires certification in International Air Transport Association (IATA) dangerous goods shipping, DOT regulatory shipping and hazardous waste to keep HPG in compliance with required regulations.
  • Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Builds and maintains the lab chemical inventory system to track product movements until they are consumed via electronic logging systems.
  • Assists with indoor and outdoor facility repairs and enhancement projects.
  • Works and assists contractors on approved repairs and enhancements.
  • Assists Research and Development Technical Managers in field-related duties that involve maintenance of facility grounds.
  • Coordinates with business operations to perform general indoor and outdoor facility repairs and assists contractors on performing approved repairs and enhancements to facility.
  • Provides maintenance services of HPG facility projects independently and with contractors throughout and until completion.
  • Manages and trains Warehouse Associates on day-to-day job duties.
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by leader.
  • Reliable and regular attendance is required.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE




  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Five years of work experience in a warehouse facility is required.
  • IATA dangerous goods shipping certification, DOT regulatory shipping certification and hazardous waste certifications are required and must be up-to-date.



SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS




  • Basic carpentry and mechanical skills required.
  • Organizational and record keeping skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of basic inventory procedures and equipment is required.
  • Ability to read and understand technical instructions is required.
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
  • Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill at Helena.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license is required to drive a company vehicle. Applicants for positions requiring operation of other moving vehicles or interaction with heavy equipment must meet the legal age requirement.



Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB

The work environment for this position is a warehouse/outdoor environment where the noise level is usually moderate to loud and occasionally very loud. In this position, you will work outdoors in all types of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements. When working in the warehouse, you will regularly work around moving equipment/mechanical parts and could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations and a risk of electrical shock.

This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand (8 hours a day or more), lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more), reaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs), climbing, gripping, grasping and twisting using hands and wrists, bending and stooping for long periods of time, working below knee levels for short periods of time and working above shoulder level for short periods.
