This position takes the lead on major writing assignments, including the creation of a style guide for major campaigns which serves as a guide for others on the team who need to write copy for those campaigns, and leads the content creation portion of the
DARCOMM team.
This position creates templates and copy for the university's more than 100 fundraisers as well as custom proposals and menus of opportunity for high priority giving opportunities. The development of those materials requires independent research, information gathering, and graphic design to create polished and professional proposals and other print materials. Regular meetings and interactions with frontline fundraisers are necessary as the development proposal writer creates support materials, which could also include one-pagers, brochures, scripts, and videos. The position leverages strong writing and editing skills to develop written content for these materials but also leverages graphic design layout skills. This role impacts the raising of annual, major, and principal gifts for the University of Georgia.

The Assistant Director of Editorial Content is also tasked with coordinating the university's major gift promotion plan. In this capacity, the position serves as dot-connector, strategic planner, writer, or editor, with multiple roles often at play as circumstances dictate. The position, at various times, crafts the promotion plan framework, familiarizes the university's communicators with it, monitors gift accounting reports for significant gifts, coordinates with benefiting units on promotion, develops promotion plans with units and UGA's Division of Marketing and Communication, writes gift announcements, edits submitted work, manages the review and approval of gift announcements, and assists in the execution of the plan. |
