Who we are and what we do: The Tennessee Department of Correction operates and oversees 14 adult prisons across the state, housing some 21,000 offenders. In the community, TDOC supervises 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community corrections. The department operates 44 probation/parole offices in 13 districts across the state. The Tennessee Department of Correction operates safe and secure prisons and provides effective community supervision in order to enhance public safety. How to make a difference in this role: The TDOC Special Agent position is assigned to the Office of Investigations and Conduct (OIC) Security Threat Group (STG) and is the law enforcement branch of the TDOC. Job Overview: The Special Agent possesses statewide law enforcement authority to conduct both criminal and administrative investigations of offenses relative to or affecting the TDOC. Primary Functions will be investigations and intelligence related to Criminal Street Gangs, Prison Gangs, and other Security Threat Groups supervised by TDOC. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience as a police officer, correction, or probation/parole officer. Police officer candidates must be POST certified. Non-police officer candidates must be able and willing to attend a certified law enforcement academy and become POST certified.
