Carnegie Mellon University: Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences: Department of Languages, Cultures & Applied Linguistics Location Pittsburgh, PA Open Date May 20, 2025 Deadline May 24, 2025 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time Description The Department of Languages, Cultures, and Applied Linguistics invites applications for a position as an Assistant Teaching Track Professor in Italian Studies, beginning in August 2025. Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in Italian and English. Ph.D. in hand in Italian Studies or Romance Studies with a focus on contemporary Italian postcolonial literature is required. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of research expertise in contemporary postcolonial Italian literature, film, and migration studies through publications and conference presentations. Evidence of training and experience teaching Italian as a foreign language is a must. The successful candidate will teach Italian language courses as well as Italian culture and general education courses in cultural studies. The successful candidate will also oversee curriculum design and materials development and develop and engage in student outreach activities. Teaching load is 3+3. Qualifications Ph.D. in hand Italian Studies or Romance Studies with a focus on contemporary Italian postcolonial literature. Evidence of training and experience teaching Italian as a foreign language.
