Cubic Defense Secure Communications: The future battlespace will be contested. Senior Software Engineer

Location: San Diego, hybrid

* Coordinates and develops project concepts, objectives, specifications and resource needs.

* Prepares development software, codes software (C++) and designs specific enhancements utilizing Socket API programming in Linux and Windows

* Participates in the design, development, planning, modification and testing of application software (C++) running on Windows 10 and embedded Linux.

* Recommends test control, strategies, apparatus and equipment for solving applications running on multiple processors. Test and documents results

* Conceptualizes, develops and analyzes engineering designs, specifications and test plans for systems and equipment based on customer/contract requirements

* Research design concepts and feasibility utilizing advanced technical theory and knowledge to resolve software/hardware and target OS related issues

* Researches programming system failures and designs and programs solutions. Performs complex analysis of design programming
* Maintains liaison with the customers, coordinators, subcontractors and vendor representatives
* Monitors project status and progress and measure system performance
* Keeps abreast of improvements in software engineering. Identifies software engineering process improvement and supports the execution of them across the organization
* Provides mentorship to junior engineering staff
* Assumes additional technical responsibilities as needed

Minimum Requirements:

Four-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related technical discipline. Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience. Experience to include specification, design and development of embedded software systems. Requires proficiency using programming languages such as Java, C/C++/C#, Product Lifecycle Management, or other developmental software. DoD Secret Clearance required.

Cubic Pay Range:

$80,000.00 - $147,733.00 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
