As a Construction Co-op/Intern at DN Tanks, you will gain hands on experience in construction management, working alongside experienced professionals in day-to-day construction operations. We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual, passionate about the world construction to join us on-site in a new and exciting project located on Sand Island, HI.
This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience, build your own future within construction, and help mobilize projects, driving forward DN Tanks growth in a new region of the United States.
We are seeking either a full-time co-op, or a part-time intern able to commit at least 20-hours per week for 6+ months.
What You'll Do:
    • Assist Project Managers and Engineers with identifying concrete suppliers and prepare pre-bid and post-bid pricing for concrete/shotcrete mixes.
    • Coordinate with suppliers to develop, trial batch, and evaluate concrete/shotcrete mix designs.
    • Develop site layout drawings using AutoCAD, including cut/fill slopes, access ramps, haul roads, crane positions, casting bed locations, and work platforms
    • Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors including sitework, rebar, crane, and concrete operations to ensure alignment with project schedules and plans.
    • Assist with jobsite pre-pour inspections, ensuring compliance with specifications and readiness for concrete placement.
    • Support quantity takeoffs, material tracking, and verification of installed work.
    • Participate in safety meetings, site inspections, and ensure adherence to project safety protocols.
    • Help resolve field issues and support schedule updates with Project Engineers and Project Managers.
Who You Are:
    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
    • Strong interest in structural and civil construction, especially in concrete and precast systems.
    • Working knowledge of construction drawings and specifications.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), familiarity with AutoCAD.
    • Excellent communication and time management skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
    • Ability to problem-solve in individual and team settings.
    • Ability to work on-site at the Sand Island project site.

$24 - $24 an hour
DN Tanks offers a starting hourly rate of $24 per hour for interns and co-op students. This compensation is based on market rates and determined by considering many factors such as external market salary survey data, internal data for comparable roles, and the operational and budgetary objectives of the company.
