Fox News Media is hiring a freelance Associate Producer to support Fox News Channel's daytime shows. This exciting opportunity will expose you to every facet of news while working in a fast-paced environment. The Freelance Associate Producer will write compelling and conversational copy on a wide variety of news topics. You have exceptional script writing skills and impeccable grammar. Your news judgment is exemplary, and you have knowledge of an passion for current events and politics. You will need to work well under constant deadline pressure. This role can help propel you to a lasting career in cable news.

You will be offered the following shift:

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 AM ET - 4:00 PM ET

Saturday: 6:30 AM ET - 12:00 PM ET

Sunday: 7:00 AM ET - 12:00 PM ET

• Research and craft stories in a way that resonates with our viewers

• Write compelling scripts and bold banners under deadline pressure

• Coordinate elements for your stories, including video and graphics

• Stay on top of the latest editorial information, and communicate changes in a fast-paced atmosphere

• Pitch story ideas

• Job includes both weekend days

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• 2 years of news production experience on a national level

• Exceptional script writing skills, news judgment, and grammar

• Solid news judgment and an outstanding grasp of politics and current events

• Substantial control room and breaking news experience

• Working knowledge of iNews, VIZ, and desktop editing preferred

• Team-player attitude paired with the ability to meet quick deadlines and react to rapid news developments

• A bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $30.00-36.05 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
