JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction and guidance of the Biometrics and Digital Sciences team, the Intern will provide advanced statistical methods for the analysis of safety signal detection. The Intern will coordinate activities with other subject matter experts cross-functionally to obtain relevant data and disease understanding to help ensure modelling is fit for purpose.

Advanced Statistical Modelling



  • Research methods for safety signal detection in concert with subject matter experts.
  • Propose methodologies that will be most sensitive to rare event data.
  • Program analysis in SAS, R, or other open-source software.
  • Document and validate code in concert with internal statistical programming function.
  • Present findings to statistical forums and wider audiences if required.


Collaboration and Learning



  • Attend team meetings and internal learning sessions to enhance understanding of safety signal detection and biostatistical methods.
  • Collaborate with statistical programmers, and safety scientists to support cross-functional analysis efforts.
  • Engage with senior team members to receive guidance on modeling approaches and professional development.


Documentation and Communication



  • Prepare clear, well-documented code and analysis outputs suitable for internal review and future reference.
  • Contribute to technical documentation describing methodologies, assumptions, and outcomes.
  • Assist in the development of presentation materials for internal statistical forums or cross-functional meetings.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS



  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer sciences, or relevant field.
  • Must possess an understanding of probability theory, Bayesian methods and simulation methods in machine learning.
  • Proficient in SAS, R, or other open-source statistical language.
  • Strong organizational, planning skills, and attention to detail.
  • Must demonstrate willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Strong interpersonal and effective written and verbal communication skills.




U.S. Base Pay Ranges and Benefits Information

The estimated annual base salary as a new hire for this position ranges from$17.00 to $21.00. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. Certain roles are eligible for additional incentive compensation, including merit increases, annual bonus, [and/or long-term incentives in the form of stock options.]
