Job Overview & Responsibilities

As a member of Engineering & Infrastructure Operational Facility Systems, Communications and Data Networks Group, the responsibilities include:



  • Security, operation, maintenance, administration, and architecture evolution of launch site data communication systems networks, including all supporting computer embedded processor systems
  • Administration and day-to-day operation of the organization's network systems (e.g. LAN, WAN, wireless, and VoIP)
  • Manage network and server environments
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration
  • Ensure network performance through testing, monitoring, and statistics reporting
  • Manage and perform network system software upgrades
  • Participate in the evaluation of new products, conduct feasibility studies, assess impacts on existing configurations, and perform cost/benefit analysis to support network hardware and software



Required Education

Bachelor

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 4 years of related work experience

Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelors in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Expertise in design, analysis, optimization, and operation of LAN/WAN and Wireless Services
  • Knowledge of copper and fiber for telecommunications and familiarity with current best practices
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work with a wide range of team members including customers and subcontractors
  • Experience with Windows, Windows Server, and Linux
  • Experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Skilled in OSI Layers 1 - 4
  • Expertise in TCP/IP, DNS, DCHP, & EIGRP



Preferred Qualifications



  • One or more of the following:

    • ISO Certified and/or equivalent experience.
    • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
    • Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP)
    • System Security Certified Provider (SSCP)
    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
    • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
    • EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA)
    • CompTIA Security+
    • Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques
    • Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts


  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) or equivalent
