The IT Business Intelligence & Reporting Analyst helps the business solve problems by improving access to information. In this role, you will work closely with data engineers and business stakeholders to provide tools enabling decision-making and analysis throughout the business. This position will identify, capture, clarify, and translate business data and reporting needs, bringing insights where they are most needed. We are looking for a self-starting problem solver who is curious, detail-oriented, and organized, with a proactive, continuous-improvement mindset and the desire to learn and grow.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate and build relationships across the business to understand and define data-related problems, deliver strategic value, build on common data platforms, and maximize strategic business decision-making capabilities.
  • Respond to business requests, assisting with analysis, design, and implementation of reports, dashboards, and data feeds.
  • Create, maintain, and deploy visualizations and reports using Power BI, DAX, and other business analytics reporting tools and technologies. Build, maintain, and publish report specifications, technical documentation, and libraries, ensuring consistency of results and accuracy across tools.
  • Build and maintain data access libraries to ensure information is available to consumers throughout The Cianbro Companies.
  • Educate and empower business subject matter experts in the use of data and analysis tools.
  • Monitor and support ETL processes related to BI reports.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in data science, software development, Information Technology, or related areas with 4+ years of work experience in related disciplines.
  • Expertise with data visualization and design, reporting, data exploration, and data presentation tools and technologies, with experience creating dashboards and reports that intuitively convey information.
  • Experience with business reporting and data analytics technologies and tools.
  • Experience with common on-prem and cloud database platforms (MS SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Machine Learning, PL/SQL, T-SQL queries.
  • Understanding of enterprise database architecture, data integrations, ETL tools, data transport mechanisms, REST APIs, and functional concepts.
  • Familiarity with dimensional modeling, enterprise data warehouse, and master data management.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral, written, and verbal), adept at articulating ideas in both technical and business-friendly language, fostering strong business collaboration. Excellent listening and interpersonal skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks based on business objectives and priorities.
