Job Title Machinist/MillwrightRequisition JR000014971 Machinist/Millwright (Open)Location St. Louis, MOAdditional Locations Job Description Summary The Machinist/Millwright is responsible for completing the troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of the mechanical process equipment in his/her area. The successful candidate must be a self-motivated problem solver, mathematically competent, team oriented, and blueprint literate. He/she should have proven experience in repairing pumps, gear reducers, agitators, conveyors, centrifuges, filter presses, blowers, and compressors. He/she must be knowledgeable in hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, mechanical seals, precision measurement instruments, and bearing installations. The successful candidate should possess the ability to conduct preventive and predictive maintenance procedures, troubleshoot equipment failures, complete production machine set-ups and change-overs, and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION:
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time while working. For certain positions, individuals must be able to wear a respirator. Individuals will be subject to extensive security background check, educational, employment and post-offer physical exam and drug test. Extensive training will be required in order to meet all regulatory, safety and security requirements. Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds unassisted on a regular basis. Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule including nights and weekends REQUIREMENTS: Education: Associates degree in Applied Science or equivalent certification program from a technical school with an emphasis on a machinist field of study preferred. Equivalent relevant years of experience in these fields of study will also be considered. Experience: Minimum of one to three years' experience (five to seven years' experience preferred) as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing facility; experience with FDA regulations and cGMP guidelines is preferred. Experience with rotating equipment, pumps, gearbox rebuilds, and bearing replacements is essential. Working knowledge of confined space entry and related OSHA safety practices is preferred Skills/Competencies: Experience with glass-lined equipment and a Computer Maintenance Management System is preferred (Maximo preferred). Experience with HVAC equipment and their controls is a plus. Having earned a CFC certification is also a plus. WORKING CONDITIONS: The Machinist/Millwright will work primarily in a manufacturing environment on a rotating shift schedule (12 hour shift, four on and four off). Manufacturing areas are not climate controlled. During summer months, building exhaust fans provide ventilation. Chemicals handled include acids and bases, organic solvents, and inorganic compounds. Chemicals may have characteristic odors or hazardous properties that require special handling. Office and manufacturing environments may require use of personal protective equipment such as a hard hat, safety glasses, and work boots. Additional PPE may be required on some occasions. Starting pay is $41.17 per hour. |
